The Secret Garden Villa at Finca Botanico has been lovingly renovated, combining modern facilities and amenities with all of the traditional charm and character of a 300 year old Canarian farmhouse.

It is an ideal choice for plant lovers as its lush tropical courtyard garden is packed with trees, plants and shrubs all of which thrive within the shelter of high walls which also provide guests with total privacy.

The garden is divided into a number of different and distinct zones and chill out spaces, including a purpose-built BBQ and outdoor dining area and sunbathing zone equipped with comfy loungers and spa shower. Enabling guests to relax in style and comfort whilst enjoying a real sense of outdoor living.

Internally, the villa has been decorated and furnished to a high standard, offering free fibre optic WiFi, Smart widescreen TV with channels in multiple languages and a wood burner for cooler winter nights, along with many other features. Beach and bath towels and bed linens are all provided free of charge.

The focal point is the huge garden room, combining a kitchen/lounge/diner with great views into the garden via large glass sliding doors which can be opened up to create a real sense of indoor/outdoor living.

There is a further separate lounge area equipped with comfy seating, library and a picture window providing great views of the surrounding countryside.

Along with a marble tiled bathroom with large walk in shower.

The large master bedroom has a king size bed measuring 1.8m by 2m and the second bedroom has a queen size bed, 1.6m by 2m.

Green Village

Finca Botanico is located in Guatiza, one of the greenest villages in Lanzarote - in the heart of an active farming community and in close proximity to the world famous Cactus Garden created by Cesar Manrique, which is just a short stroll away from the property.

Bars and Restaurants

An excellent Italian restaurant, Tasca de Lita, is located less than three minutes walk away. Guatiza is also home to three other bars serving snacks and tapas as well as a late night music bar with live acts.

There are lots of other restaurants located within a ten to fifteen minute radius.

Walking and Trekking

The Finca is surrounded by countryside so there are loads of scenic walks right on the doorstep. Organised treks with local guides can also be arranged on request.

The Beach - Arrieta

One of the most beautiful, unspoilt beaches on the island - Arrieta - is located just a five minute drive away from the Finca.

Teguise - Historic Former Capital

Colonial buildings and quiet cobbled streets are just a ten minute drive away. Teguise is also home to Lanzarote's largest weekly market every Sunday morning.

Cesar Manrique

The famous artist and architect created all of Lanzarote's leading tourist attractions, such as the Jameos del Agua and the Cactus Garden. And all of them are within a fifteen minute drive of the Finca, making this an ideal base for sightseeing.

Finca Botanico is a beautiful place. We stayed again in the Secret Garden. It is beautiful inside. A mix of tradition but having every modern facility you could wish for. Outside is stunning with a garden that reflects the professional horticultural skills of the owners. So imaginative. Gaby, the main contact for guests of the couple, is so helpful if you need it but also let's you just chill quietly as you wish. We both do quite stressful charity jobs but whatever you do, I would bet you would love to stay.

The village is not a busy tourist resort and better for that. Good shop, welcoming locals bar and the beautiful local coast of Artieta region just mins away. As are most of the great sites of Lanzarote.

Well worth checking website and taking a close look. Sign up for their email updates too. Persuades and excites us, yet they don't quite capture the magic. This place doesn't rely on doctored photos that many disappointing places do. We will go again we are sure.

I cannot beging to tell you how much my stress levels have gone down since I walked through the door of this property. It's just such a beautiful, beautiful space. You can tell whoever owns it loves it. It's not just a money making thing for them. This is something they have put their heart and soul into and it really shows. Instant wow factor.

When we first entered the Secret Garden we were surprised and pleased at its spaciousness and how light and bright it was. The living room and kitchen area was like a summer house looking out to the beautiful garden and even when it rained it still looked amazing. We loved the many different areas of the garden where we could enjoy a glass or two of the excellent local wine. We loved the Finca and hope to return. As previously remarked, Gaby was very helpful and readily contactable.

It's just amazing!!! The garden is beautiful, it has several spots to enjoy the outdoor area and it is well cared for. The interior is great, the house is decorated with great taste and no detail is lacking, we feel like home from minute one... the windows from the kitchen-dining room to the garden are amazing. Communication with Nick and Gaby is great, very fluid and with all the info before arriving, they have also compiled all kinds of recommendations about the island and especially the north. Thank you very much for everything, we want to come back!!!

We had a wonderful stay at the finca. Very clean and equipped with pretty much everything you need for a week or 2. The garden is a dream and perfect to relax in for lazy days. Very private and quiet location, ideal if you have a car to get around. Most of Lanzarote is within a 15-30 minutes drive and there’s a small supermarket in walking distance. Gaby was a pleasure to communicate with, very welcoming and quick to respond.

We spent a delightful 10 days at the lovely Finca Botanico. The accommodation is spacious, well equipped, spotlessly clean and a pleasing décor. It was all we could have wished for. We have now thoroughly enjoyed several winter visits to the Secret Garden Villa. Its location, in the small village of Guatiza, is perfect for walking to the coast or hills. It is also well positioned for travel to the quieter north of the island. There is an excellent Italian restaurant and a great little village store. Gaby and Nick have renovated the finca to a very high, comfortable standard and are always adding little extras too.

A warm welcome always awaits. The enclosed garden is a sheer joy, offering sun and shade as well as an eclectic range of sub-tropical plants. Its design is gorgeous and enhanced by subtle lighting that enables it to be enjoyed at night. Its seclusion and safety are most welcome features too. The property is a gem and provides a charming green oasis in the otherwise arid landscape of the Island. We recommend it unreservedly!
